Diversity Sampling Program a Hit
with 10,000 Bags Distributed!

For less than 28 cents per sample, vendors were able to participate in our Diversity Sampling Program that distributed bags to 10,000 women at African American events in large markets around the country. CosPro Diversity Ambassadors handed out 2,000 drawstring bags at five multicultural parades and festivals between June and October. Each bag contained beauty samples and a coupon book. Events included the Taste of Soul in Los Angeles, the African American Day Parade in Harlem, NY, the Black Women’s Expo in Washington D.C. and more!

Attendance at each event ranged from 50,000 to 900,000. Excitement abounds at each festival. Jay-Z’s Tidal X: Brooklyn concert featured Jennifer Lopez, Stevie Wonder and Daddy Yankee, and all proceeds benefited charities including the recent hurricane victims. Music and flags filled the streets of Harlem for the African American Day Parade. Festival go-ers of all ages were happy to receive the sample bags and see what was inside. CosPro had a team of five demonstrators interacting with attendees and handing out gift bags.

At one event we were told that the bags were the “best giveaways at the festival”. Attendees were familiar with most of the brands and many mentioned that they were super excited to try these products. The program was a success with brands benefiting from the opportunity to place their samples right in the hands of their target demographic.

4 Tips to Launch a New Product Successfully

Did you know that 30,000 new products are launched every year? And that the average failure rate is 80-95%? Against these seemingly impossible odds, how do you make your product one of the winners? Here are 4 tips to ensure YOUR product separates itself from the pack:

#1 – Understand your market

American families buy the same 150 items repeatedly, which comprise 85% of their household needs. The quickest way to persuade them to add YOUR product to that list is through a TRIAL. 25% of consumers buy a product immediately after sampling it. 50% of consumers plan to buy it in the future.

#2 – Let customers try it

In-store demonstration events allow customers to try your products prior to purchase. 89% of first-time purchases are the result of trial or sample, so it’s vital to emphasize this step in your launch plans.

#3 – Use multiple channels

A product launch should include multiple media channels such as print ads, online marketing, email blasts, sweepstakes, flyers, signage and more added to your in-store promotions.

#4 – Train your sales force

Do not underestimate the importance of the people selling your product. If they don’t believe in it they aren’t going to be committed to selling it. You certainly don’t want customers to know more than the sales associate about the product.

Sales Skyrocket at Recent Coppertone Event

During a recent event at almost 300 stores, our Beauty Experts racked up the sales! They provided complimentary product demonstrations of Coppertone’s Clearly Sheer Whipped Sunscreen. Shoppers were eager to try the products, and were happy to receive product knowledge from the Beauty Experts. They performed more than 5,000 demonstrations, and sold one piece of product for every 2 demos completed. 65% of customers even said that they would switch sunscreen brands! They loved being able to try before purchasing, and many said they loved how the sunscreen made their skin feel soft, not sticky. 50% of shoppers had not heard of the products prior to the event-making it great for product awareness.

The event was a success with more than 2,000 products sold. In addition, Beauty Experts were able to train more than 500 store associates on the Coppertone products to help assist with sales in the future.

Makeover Event Results In 50% of Customers Switching Brands

CosPro Agency’s makeup artists executed a recent makeover demonstration at 42 stores featuring Flormar Cosmetics. The makeup artists gave complimentary makeovers to shoppers using over 12 different Flormar products including their Illuminating Primer Makeup Base, Camouflage Palette and Double Radiance Primer Highlighter. They performed 185 demonstrations and sold more than 375 products! 96% of shoppers had not yet heard of the Flormar brand, so the event was great for brand awareness. 50% of customers even said they would switch brands.

Shoppers were glad to receive the complimentary demonstrations, and they commented on how much they loved the affordable price points of the products.

95% of stores reported customer interest in the event, making it a hit! The makeup artists trained 65 store associates on the Flormar Cosmetics to help boost sales for the stores in the future.
