‘90s Hairstyles You Need to Try Today

Looking for a new hairstyle? The ‘90s is a great source of inspiration. There were a lot of styles that you can make yours today.

Friends“The Rachel”
“The Rachel” was of course inspired by Jennifer Aniston’s character on Friends. It was a layered shag that women all over the country were asking for. It was easy to see why it was so popular. The Rachel had everything – texture, volume and lots of layers. Interestingly enough, Jennifer Aniston actually hated the hairstyle and didn’t see why it was quite so popular. But don’t feel sorry for her stylist, Chris McMillan. He has joined her at her hair care company, Living Proof, as their Celebrity Stylist.

Box Braids
Braids never really go out of style. But to keep the look updated, there are always trends to follow. In the ‘90s the trend was box braids. These were thick braids all over, and the style would last an amazingly long time! Typically box braids were created with synthetic hair that was burned at the end to keep the braid intact (that way you didn’t have to worry about rubber bands or beads). Brandy always had terrific braids at the height of her career in the ‘90s. Now, Beyonce and her sister Solange have been instrumental in bringing them back in the 2010’s.

Half Up
It was very popular in the ‘90s to wear your hair half up, half down. It was a very graceful, feminine style and pretty quick to do. No wonder so many movies depict princesses wearing their hair this way! This hairstyle looked absolutely perfect with the ‘90s jewelry staple – choker necklaces. When you do this style, leave a few tendrils out in the front if you really want to stay true to the decade.

Mini Ponytails
This style is distinctly ‘90s, and will be a true challenge to modernize for today. But on the other hand, it hasn’t quite returned into fashion now so perhaps you can be the one to bring it back! Mini ponytails were in heavy rotation. And they often accompanied another ‘90s hair trend—butterfly clips. It was a fun, youthful look. It was a little girlish, so you didn’t see too many older women participating in the trend.

HeadbandsWide Headbands
Wide headbands enjoyed immense popularity in the ‘90s. It seemed like everyone had one. Matching your outfit with a headband just seemed like the right thing to do. Of course, the best part was if you had frizzy hair or a bad hair day the headband was a pretty good rescue item. Since the ‘90s had a heavy ‘60s influence, it was not surprising that headbands were such an ‘in’ fashion statement. Other items borrowed from the ‘60’s included floral prints, bell bottom jeans, and hippie inspired vests.

MariahNatural Curls
Before everyone flat ironed their hair to death in the 2000s, people embraced their natural hair curls. Of course, this required a lot of hair gel (e.g. the popular brand L.A. Looks) to have a sort of wet looking frizz-free coif. There were plenty of celebrities with curly hair beaten into submission with loads of mousse and gel like Mariah Carey, Drew Barrymore, Tia and Tamera Mowry, and Janet Jackson.

Kiss Sales Soar While Shoppers Enjoy Manicures

Cosmetic-Promotions-DemonstrationCosPro Agency executed a Kiss Nail event featuring free manicures and extra savings coupons for shoppers at nearly 1,000 major chain drugstores nationwide. Customers enjoyed the complimentary manicures featuring Kiss Salon Acrylic French Nails and said they were surprised how easy the nails were to apply and also were impressed with how inexpensive the manicures were compared to salon prices.

The event proved the importance of educating customers on a product; Beauty Experts sold almost 4,700 pieces in 4 hours, resulting in strong sales lift and happy shoppers. In addition, more than 1,450 employees were trained on the product and with over 47,000 coupons distributed, there are sure to be lots of future sales.

Cosmetic Promotions Beauty Experts Sell Over 7,500 Pieces in One-Day Event!

Cosmetic-Promotions-Beauty-Expert-DemonstrationIn celebration of Mother’s Day, CosPro Agency’s Beauty Experts hosted a demonstration and sampling event at almost 500 major drugstore chain store locations nationwide. The event included popular beauty and personal care brands such as Olay, CoverGirl, Crest, Pantene, Gillette and Clairol. With a beautiful table display including balloons, easel card and tons of free samples, the Beauty Experts had no problem attracting customers.

The Beauty Experts educated shoppers on the products, and made suggestions on which products each individual should try. They distributed samples of Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream and Pantene Shampoo & Conditioner. The one-day event resulted in almost 7,600 pieces of product sold!

Samples & Coupons Seal the Deal

Specially designed coupon books offered shoppers instant savings that induced many shoppers to stock up on their favorite brands. The Beauty Experts distributed nearly 40,000 samples to customers who said they were excited to be able to try the products before purchasing and would return to buy.

In addition to gaining a record number of sales and happy customers, Beauty Experts were able to train more than 500 employees on the featured products which will help encourage future product sales.
